Short answer
SEO prices in Vancouver depend on how much work the monthly fee covers. Four published offers serving Vancouver started between $397 and $1,497 a month in September 2026. A one-city plan for a few services sits at the low end. More cities, more pages and ongoing content push the price up. Ask every provider to list the pages, locations, Business Profile tasks and reports the fee pays for.
Most articles on SEO prices in Vancouver give you a tidy average with no list of quotes behind it. This one uses real published prices you can check yourself, including ours.
I run IshaanEx Digital from Abbotsford and work with businesses across the Lower Mainland. Our SEO rates are public, so I have put them right beside three other providers. I want you to see what a monthly fee really pays for. Then you can judge any quote that lands in your inbox.
How much does SEO cost in Vancouver?
Four Vancouver-facing SEO providers listed starting fees from $397 to $1,497 a month when I checked their pricing pages on September 21, 2026. That is a small sample of advertised prices, not a market average. Each plan covers different work, and some agencies show a lower monthly rate if you prepay for a longer term.
- IshaanEx Digital $397One primary city
- RZ Web Media $599Local or website SEO
- Pixelwall $800Upkeep, content, reports
- Digital Moose $1,497Can include a new website
Standard or month-to-month amounts where the term is stated. Prices change, so check each live page.
Here is what each pricing page says the fee covers. Read the right-hand column before the price column. One of these offers can include a brand-new website, which makes its monthly fee hard to compare with a plan that is SEO only.
| Provider | From | What the public page says it covers |
|---|---|---|
| IshaanEx Digital | $397/mo | One primary city. Keyword research, Google Business Profile and Map Pack work, five priority-page rewrites per quarter, technical checks, monthly rank and speed report. |
| RZ Web Media | $599/mo | Local SEO or website SEO as separate services, with a written monthly report. Longer prepaid terms show lower monthly amounts. |
| Pixelwall | $800/mo | Technical upkeep, content updates, GA4 reporting and monthly strategy calls. |
| Digital Moose | $1,497/mo | One SEO system that can include a new website. Rebuild projects have a six-month minimum. |
You will see bigger numbers in other guides. Quake Media's Vancouver cost guide lists a $1,500 to $2,250 starter band, and Digital Connect Marketing gives broader price bands. Those are each publisher's own ranges. Neither is a price survey, and neither is a quote for your business.
From my own work
A Vancouver agency once called me about a cleaning business site I look after. On the phone they quoted website packages around $1,700 and $2,500, plus SEO plans around $700 and $900 a month. I never got a written task list for either SEO plan. Those numbers felt high, but without a list of the work I had no way to judge them. That is the whole problem with comparing on price alone.
What makes one SEO quote cost more than another?
The price climbs with scope. That means how many services you want found, how many cities you want to show up in, and how much new content gets written each month. A plumber in one neighbourhood, a clinic with four locations and a national online store need very different amounts of work. There is no useful "minimum" that fits all three.
For a single-city service business, a good first plan usually covers a search and competitor check, one clear page per core service, a complete Google Business Profile, technical fixes and monthly tracking. If those basics are missing, paying for four blog posts a month is the wrong first move. Once the service pages are strong, the work can shift to more cities, more content and real mentions from local groups.
Where you are matters too. On Google Maps, results depend mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, per Google's own help page. A business serving Kitsilano, Burnaby and West Vancouver should say which areas it truly visits. Paying for a page that repeats "Vancouver" twenty times will not undo where your customer is searching from.
Real example
DELANA Interiors in West Vancouver first needed a working site with separate pages for bathroom, kitchen, basement, whole-home and custom renovation work. The SEO came after. Five distinct services need a very different page plan from one general "renovations" page, and that is what I price. As I tell owners, a client doesn't just need a website. They want customers.
What should a monthly SEO fee include?
A clear monthly fee lists the pages that get written or changed. It also names the Business Profile work, the technical fixes and what the report will show. It should also say what costs extra. Agencies usually bill in one of four ways: hourly, per project, monthly retainer and revenue share.
| Cost item | Ask this |
|---|---|
| Audit and setup | Is it in the monthly fee or billed extra? Do I get a written list of problems? |
| Page writing | Which pages get written or changed, how often, and who publishes them? |
| Business Profile | Setup, ongoing updates, or both? Who keeps owner access? |
| Technical work | Do you only find problems, or fix them too? Are developer hours included? |
| Links and listings | Is outreach included? Who pays for paid directories or memberships? |
| Report and term | What does the report show? How long is the minimum? |
The "links and listings" row is the one people miss. In my client work, a monthly fee does not cover every paid directory or association membership. Some good local links also need the owner to introduce real partners or suppliers. Get those costs and jobs in writing. A quote that states its limits is easier to trust than one that promises "everything."
For the record, our published SEO pricing shows Starter at $397 a month for one primary city and Growth at $1,000 a month for up to five Lower Mainland cities, monthly blog content and AI search work. Both start with a three-month minimum, then run month to month, with no setup fee. You can see what the Vancouver version includes on our Vancouver SEO services page.
Is a plan under $500 a month automatically bad?
No. A small, clearly written plan for one city can cost less than a five-city campaign and still be the right fit. A fee becomes a worry when the provider cannot say what work gets done. Ask which pages they will touch, what the report shows, and whether links are earned or bought. Judge the work and the method.
I have a reason to be careful here. On September 21, 2026, I searched this exact pricing question and saw IshaanEx Digital cited in a Google AI Overview right beside a warning about plans under $400 to $500. Our Starter plan is $397. A price line on its own tells you little. I can show you the work inside our $397 plan. Ask every other provider to show you theirs.
One rule does hold for every price. Google's own guide says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. If a quote promises one, walk away. And whatever you pay, you should keep full access to your website, Search Console, analytics and Business Profile.
How do you compare two SEO quotes?
Put every quote side by side and check the same things on each one: the pages, the locations, the content count, who does the work, what costs extra, and the minimum term. Then add up the total for the first term, including setup and tax. The cheapest quote can be right for a small scope. The priciest can be worth it if your business truly needs that work.
Owners ask how much agencies charge for SEO all the time, and the honest answer is always "it depends on the list." So run each quote you have through the checker below. It takes about a minute, and it tells you whether the quote gives you enough to judge the price.
Any box you could not tick is a question to send back before you sign. If the reply is a package name and a promise of "more traffic," ask again for the tasks in writing. A provider who knows the work can list it.
What should the monthly report show?
A useful report lists the work done, the pages changed, any problems found, and what happens next month. It should also show search visibility and enquiries where tracking allows. Ranking screenshots have a place, but one search from one phone says little about how you show up across the Lower Mainland. Maps results shift with where the searcher stands.
More traffic means nothing if it brings no good enquiries. So ask the provider, before you sign, what one ordinary month's report will look like. If you are weighing prices outside the city, our Abbotsford SEO cost guide covers the Fraser Valley side of the same question.
FAQs about SEO prices in Vancouver
How much does SEO cost in Canada?
There is no single Canadian rate. Agencies sell hourly work, one-time projects and monthly retainers, and each covers different work. For a Vancouver business, ask for a quote that names the services, pages and areas you need. A national average cannot price that for you.
How much should SEO cost for a small business?
Enough to pay for the agreed work at a pace you can keep up for several months, with clear reports and full ownership of your accounts. Start with the gaps on your site and Google Business Profile that hurt your main services. Then compare quotes by tasks, extras and the total for the first term.
Is there a startup fee for Vancouver SEO?
It depends on the provider. Our pricing lists no setup fee, but other agencies may bill an audit, a website rebuild or a technical project separately. Ask for the full cost of the first three months, setup included.
Can I cancel my SEO contract anytime?
Read the term before you sign. Our SEO plans start with a three-month minimum, then run month to month. Digital Moose lists a six-month minimum when a website rebuild is included, and RZ Web Media lists a monthly option. Ask how much notice you must give and what happens to your site and accounts when you leave.
How long does SEO take to work in Vancouver?
There is no fixed date. A technical fix, a Business Profile update and a new service page can each take effect on a different timeline. Treat any agency timeline as an estimate, not a promise. Ask what will be finished and measured in the first 90 days.
Is an SEO plan under $500 a month a bad sign?
Not on its own. The price matters less than the written task list behind it. Use the quote checker above to test any plan, at any price.
